Plastic film mulching is an important agronomic measure in agricultural production. It plays an important role in regulating soil temperature, conserving water and fertilizer, greatly prolonging the cultivation period of crops, saving agricultural water, improving the ability of fighting against agricultural disasters, and ensuring the stable and increasing yield of crops. However, not all farmers have used the plastic film well, especially in the greenhouse vegetable production, the unreasonable plastic film covering method is an important reason affecting the growth of vegetables.

There are three kinds of plastic film: white film, black film and two color film

1、White ground membrane

It is easy to burn and grow weeds if the surface of the transplanting seedling is uneven in spring and summer, and it is widely used. Weed control should be done before sprout.

2、Black plastic film

It is mainly used for vegetable cultivation in low humidity field and easy to grow weeds.

3、Silver grey two color film

It is mainly used in the cultivation of Eggplant and melon vegetables.

Common mistakes

1、The plastic film was close to the base of stem, and the dead tree was serious

Improper plastic film mulching is an important reason for the occurrence of epidemic diseases. Here we remind vegetable farmers to pay attention to the fact that plastic film mulching should not be close to the vegetable stalks. It is recommended not to cut the plastic film with a blade, but to pick the film with fingers to ensure that the opening is larger and will not be closed. Generally, the diameter is 5-8 cm. In the high temperature stage, roll up both sides of the plastic film to prevent the ground temperature from being too high; when the temperature drops, pull the plastic film away, and clamp the two adjacent plastic films with grafting clip, so that the plastic film does not touch the stem.

2、Covering the mulch with mulching in the whole shed, which affects the root growth

When many vegetable farmers cover the plastic film, they directly cover the whole shed with plastic film. After countless times of trampling, the plastic film is closely attached to the ground. When watering, the plastic film will also compress the plastic film, which seriously affects the air permeability of the soil, hinders the respiration of vegetable root system, and causes poor root development.

In fact, the best way for planting line is to support plastic film with steel wire or bamboo pole every 50cm, and cover the plastic film on the supporting stalk from south to north, so as to realize watering under the film, which not only improves the soil permeability, but also makes the moisture difficult to volatilize outside, and reduces the humidity in the shed; and the best operation line is to cover crop straw, which not only improves the ground temperature, but also regulates the humidity in the shed, which can achieve more Yes.

3、Plastic film mulching is too early, which is not conducive to root deep planting

In greenhouse vegetable cultivation, the time of plastic film mulching should be determined according to the specific climatic conditions. For example, after the Autumn Cucumber is planted, the outside temperature is high. If the cucumber is covered with plastic film immediately, on the one hand, it is easy to cause root suffocation because of the high temperature of the plastic film; on the other hand, after mulching, a humid environment is formed in the surface layer, which is not conducive to the growth of roots, which may lead to the failure of crouching seedlings, and it is difficult to cultivate strong seedlings and strong trees 5 days later, mulching with plastic film is beneficial to root system of seedlings and cultivate strong trees.

4、Covering plastic film only in operation line, totally wrong

For example, some vegetable farmers only cover the operation line in the shed, but the planting line is not covered with plastic film. However, this method not only does not play the advantages of film mulching, but also highlights the disadvantages, the effect is very poor. In greenhouse vegetable production, the most important role of plastic film mulching is to reduce the humidity in the greenhouse and reduce the occurrence of diseases. And the operation line covered with plastic film, planting line does not cover the practice of reducing the humidity in the greenhouse, because in the vegetable watering, the vast majority of the time is the planting line, the planting line does not cover the plastic film to reduce the air humidity, also can not play a role in heat preservation. However, mulching with plastic film in the operation line has obvious disadvantages, which greatly reduces the soil permeability in the operation line and affects the growth and development of root system.
