The "Shouguang Model" promotes the overall revitalization of the rural vegetable industry and plays a significant role in increasing farmers' income.

     In recent years, Shouguang City, Shandong Province has continuously innovated and upgraded the "Shouguang Mode" in areas such as industrial standardization, parkization, branding, rural livability, and equalization of public services. Revitalization provides the material basis.

    In terms of industrial standardization, the National Vegetable Quality Standards Center jointly established by the ministries and provinces settled in Shouguang, established a team of 67 experts led by 4 academicians, and initiated the formulation of 118 national standards, industry standards, and local standards, and solar greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers. The industry standard of the whole industry chain fills the domestic gap. It has successively built vegetable bases in old revolutionary areas such as Jinggangshan, Ruijin, Zunyi and most provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country, exporting integrated solutions to agricultural problems, and driving farmers across the country to increase their incomes and become rich.

　  Promote the development of agricultural parks. Since 2018, 18 modern agricultural parks covering an area of more than 30,000 acres have been built to vigorously promote the transformation and upgrading of the vegetable industry. Among them, the Shouguang smart glass greenhouse covering an area of 120 acres was designed by the team of academician Zhao Chunjiang and applied more than 120 patented technologies, which is 50% energy-saving than the "Dutch Model" greenhouse, and its production efficiency is three to four times that of ordinary greenhouses.

Pay close attention to the brand building of agricultural products, "Shouguang Vegetables" was successfully registered as a collective geographical indication trademark, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area "Vegetable Basket" product distribution center settled in Shouguang, and the 100-billion-level vegetable industry cluster with Shouguang vegetables as the core was successfully selected as the first in the country Approve 50 advantageous industrial clusters of characteristic agricultural products. A number of corporate brands such as "Colorful Manor" and "Shouguang Agricultural Development" and a number of single vegetable brands such as "Leyi Vegetables" and "Jincai Yisheng" have been created, with 16 National Geographical Indication products.

    General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out when participating in the Shandong delegation’s deliberations, “Since the reform and opening up, Shandong has created a lot of experience in rural reform and development, integration of trade, industry and agriculture, and the'Shouguang model.' ". Actively cultivate new types of professional farmers, carry out large-scale scientific and technological training for 300,000 farmers, and attract a group of post-80s and post-90s young talents to return to their hometowns to start businesses.

    Expanding the market-oriented management system and market-driven is the outstanding feature of the "Shouguang Model". While making good use of traditional markets such as agricultural product logistics parks, Shouguang actively adapts to the new trend of agricultural product sales shifting from offline to online under the epidemic prevention and control situation. The proportion of vegetables sold through online channels has increased significantly, and the modernization of agricultural product circulation in Shouguang City has been supervised and motivated by the State Council.

Shandong is vigorously advancing system innovation and process reengineering, attracting various types of talent policies to prefer rural talents, increasing the intensity of the introduction of rural talents, and at the same time improving the cultivation level of local talents, and constructing talents that can be “get down”, “retained”, and “worked”. The long-term introduction mechanism of "good" has forged a group of new forces that are sentimental, grounded, and unacceptable for the revitalization of the countryside.
