    Cold Spring is a weather phenomenon in which the temperature in early spring (generally refers to the end of February and early March) rises rapidly, while the temperature in late spring (generally refers to April) is lower than normal years. The climate in early spring is changeable. If the cold air is strong, the temperature can drop sharply below 5°C, even in rainy and snowy weather. The following measures are put forward on how to prevent the fall of spring cold in vegetables:

    Early spring vegetables scientifically prevent cold in spring. Spring cold is divided into two types: low-temperature chilling injury and late spring frost: low-temperature chilling mainly occurs from the end of February to March, causing damage to spring vegetables such as rotten roots, dead seedlings, falling flowers and fruits, and early bolting; Frost on the surface of growing vegetable plants and damage.

     How to understand the knowledge of scientific prevention and control of cold spring is particularly important for vegetable farmers.

    1. Low temperature hardening. After the seedlings emerge, the seedbed should be ventilated, and the ventilation should be gradually increased as the weather warms, and the seedlings should be exercised at low temperature to improve the cold resistance of the seedlings and adapt to the outdoor low temperature environment.

    2. Increase the facilities. There are two ways to increase protection facilities: one is to erect wind barriers. The wind barrier acts as a barrier to cold air, preventing further cooling of the surface. The second is to ditch planting and cover with plastic film. When planting vegetables in early spring, the method of ditching can be adopted. The depth of the ditch should exceed the height of the vegetable seedlings, and then the ditch can be covered with plastic film.

    3. Temporary heating. When the cold current comes, the production in the protected area can be temporarily heated by building a simple coal stove or installing electric lights in the nursery shed or production shed to increase the temperature in the shed and prevent freezing damage.

    4. Watering. When the strong cold air passes, the weather is clear, there is no wind or breeze at night, and the temperature drops rapidly, especially when the surface temperature drops below 0 ℃ and frost occurs, a large amount of watering can be done on the ground to greatly increase the ground temperature. This method can make the ground temperature rise from 0 ℃ to about 8 ℃ to avoid frost.

    5. Light the smoke. On frost nights, fumigation in the field can effectively mitigate or avoid frost damage. But pay attention to two points: First, the fireworks should be denser, so that the smoke screen can basically cover the whole garden; second, the lighting time should be appropriate, and it should be lit in the upwind direction, from midnight to 2-3 in the morning, until before sunrise, It works best when a smoke screen hangs over the ground.

    6, appropriate amount of fertilizer. Before frost occurs, its body temperature can be lowered slowly, its frost resistance can be increased, and the water vapor content in the atmosphere can be increased, and the water vapor can condense and release heat to alleviate frost damage.

    7. Timely cultivation. Cultivation before frost can reduce the degree of frost damage. Because the temperature gradually rises in spring, after the soil is hoeed loose, it can better absorb and store solar heat.

    8. Prevention and control of pests and diseases. Low temperature and high humidity can easily lead to the growth and spread of botrytis and other diseases. It is necessary to clean up the stumps and leaves in time, and strengthen the chemical control of pests and diseases.
