    How to manage the tomato turning period

    1. The temperature difference between day and night in the vegetable greenhouse is relatively large, and the tomato fruit surface and leaves are prone to condensation. If there is a lot of condensation on the fruit surface, and the wind is suddenly released in the morning, the water on the fruit surface will evaporate rapidly, and the phenomenon of "wind swept the fruit" as the vegetable farmers say is likely to occur, which is manifested as ring cracks on the fruit surface.

    2. Adjust the plant to increase the light.

    Planting tomatoes requires setting up and adjusting the plants, so that the tomatoes can receive enough light, produce sufficient and abundant photosynthetic products, and taste better. The adjustment of tomato plants mainly includes hanging or erecting vines, tying vines, fork, fruit thinning, and topping.

    3. In order to increase the ventilation and light transmission in the shed and improve the coloring degree of the fruit, if the leaves are excessively thinned, only the upper leaves are left, and the lower leaves are completely thinned, resulting in insufficient functional leaves of the tomato plant and insufficient photosynthetic products produced. , the tomato does not get enough nutrients and the fruit cracks.

    Post-turning remedies for tomato

    1. It is recommended to ventilate the fruit surface when the temperature reaches 27-28 ℃ in the morning, which is conducive to reducing fruit cracking. When encountering strong winds, it is necessary to avoid the wind blowing the tomato fruit directly, which can also effectively reduce the cracking of the fruit.

    2. During the fruit expansion period, it is necessary to keep the ground moist, avoid flood irrigation as much as possible, prevent water accumulation in the field, and try to avoid drastic changes in soil dryness and humidity. The method of "small water and frequent irrigation" can be adopted to provide crops needed for crop growth in small quantities and multiple times. Moisture reduces the rate of fruit cracking.

    3. During the fruit growth and development period, it is recommended to regularly spray foliar fertilizers containing boron, calcium and other trace elements to adjust the absorption of calcium fertilizers, increase the toughness of the fruit cell wall, and reduce the probability of cracking or chapped skin.

    4. Any leaves without pests and yellow spots should not be destroyed prematurely, because these leaves are still the main force for photosynthesis.
