★ 1. What is the origin of the Army Day ★

Every August 1st is the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, so it is also called "August 1st" Army Day. Its origin is: at 2:00 on August 1, 1927, the Front Enemy Committee headed by Zhou Enlai and the Northern Expedition troops led by He Long, Ye Ting, Zhu De, Liu Bocheng and others were 20,000 people. An armed uprising was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi, which fired the first shot of the Chinese Communist Party's armed resistance against the Kuomintang reactionaries, and was the beginning of the Chinese Communist Party's independent leadership of the armed struggle.

In April 1928, Zhu De and Chen Yi led the preserved Nanchang Uprising Army and the Autumn Harvest Uprising army led by Mao Zedong to join forces in Jinggangshan, formally forming the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Revolutionary Army. On June 30, 1933, the Central Revolutionary Military Committee decided that August 1 every year would be the anniversary of the Red Army of the Chinese Workers and Peasants. On July 11 of the same year, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic approved this decision. Since then, "August 1" has become the Founding Day of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

The Army Day is to commemorate the birth and hardships of the People's Army, and to inspire the soldiers to defend the country. The festival falls on August 1 every year. Usually on this day, all parts of China will focus on "supporting the army, favoring the family, supporting the government and loving the people" activities. To commemorate the birth of the People's Army, the custom of Army Day is generally that government departments and social groups carry out various forms of activities to support the army.

Every year on the Army Day, the troops organize grand commemorative activities to celebrate their own festival. Governments at all levels have also organized grand military-civilian gala parties or admonitions to invite representatives of the old Red Army, retired army cadres, demobilized veterans, revolutionary disabled soldiers, and martyrs' families to participate.

At the end of August 1927, the Nanchang Uprising troops, under the command of Zhu De and He Long, occupied Ruijin in one fell swoop after an overnight storm, and won the first siege battle after the Nanchang Uprising. Ruijin, a small town in the mountainous area of southern Gansu, has since forged an indissoluble bond with the Chinese revolution.

After the Nanchang Uprising broke out, Zhang Fakui, the commander-in-chief of the Second Front Army of the National Revolutionary Army, held an emergency meeting. Ye Jianying, an underground member of the Communist Party of China, who was then the chief of staff of the Fourth Army of the Second Front Army, took advantage of the internal contradictions of the reactionary camp and suggested that Zhang Fakui should not pursue the uprising troops and let them go south to meet with them. Guangdong warlord Chen Jitang merged. This plan is in the middle of Zhang Fakui's arms. As a result, the insurgent troops were not pursued after evacuating Nanchang, and they gained a precious respite and came to Ruijin City safely all the way.
